I've been trying Debian out off and on for the last two weeks and was following the instructions about creating and installing a Sun Java SDK package located in the java-common package...I was going to create a file "/etc/profile.d/jdk.sh" (to initialize some environment variables, mainly) when I realized that Debian doesn't seem to have an "/etc/profile.d" directory, just "/etc/profile".

What is the equivalent of "/etc/profile.d" in Debian? Is there a package I can install to make this directory appear? Or does all initialization I want to do need to go directly into the file "/etc/profile"?

Thanks,

Jeremy
