Has nothing to do with apt. 

Try to tweak your hdparm settings (if you use hdparm) not to use dma for hdc 
and/or check your cables. This applies for both hard disk or CD/DVD on hdc.

Mind that if the message is associated with a hard disk, most probably prepare 
your shelf to replace it - it has become defective.
