Just to follow up on this problem connecting to my Access Point over the serial connection:
It's now working, but I'm not exactly sure why. I thought I'd be smart and get the AP out of the equations and use my null DB-9 null modem connector and try to talk to they Hyperterm machine. I could see CTS change on connecting the cable so I knew that I had the correct port. I was trying both of my serial connectors ttyS0 and ttyS1. I normally use a serial device on ttyS0 and that works fine. Anyway, after a while I got smart and tried another null modem cable (one that I made years ago back before DB-9 was used on PCs) and was able to then to talk over the ttyS0 interface but not the ttyS1. Bad null modem connector! Still, I couldn't get ttyS1 to work. Finally thought "well if it works for Windows.." and rebooted and the port started to work. My only guess is I tried to read too much and my use of setserial or stty messed up the port. Another possibility was the PC just wasn't seeing interrupts generated by the serial card (but I'm not sure that would explain why I couldn't send text out of that port). Regardless, it works now. -- Bill Moseley [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
