Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a source (preferably online) of information about hostnames, domain names and other things related to networks and network configuration. I am having a heck of a time configuring the network on my new Debian installation, and a lot of my difficulty is due to the fact that I don't know if my computer has a particular hostname, whether our network has a domain name, etc. I'm not even really sure what these terms really mean, so anything that can teach me the basics of what these things are would be very useful. Reply offlist unless you think your reply would be edifying to the whole list.
