I'm not sure how to get newer equipment to turn itself off reliably. It seems to be a question of APM vs. ACPI. I've got one box that will, and two boxes that won't. The ACPI info I've been able to find is grossly out of date, and I haven't had much luck. However, even on the boxes that won't shut themselves off, the init scripts take the system down to a point where I get a message to the effect that it's OK to turn off the power now. If you're not getting that far, you have some underlying problem to deal with. -- Michael McIntyre ---- Silvan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Linux fanatic, and certified Geek; registered Linux user #243621 http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Rue/5407/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
