After trying to get an E-mail through to the lists for three days I was more than happy when I finally got through today. problem is looks like all the problem solvers have gone out for quiz night. We do however have a considerable amount of historical philosophers, Perhaps I should give up computing and take up history; rather than figuring what`s coming I could see what has been.

I`m having a problem logging in at the console, each time I do log in the console reverts back to the log in screen. There`s a message relating to PAM unix not allowing the user in; session closed for user. Now I know someone else is having a similar problem as I`ve read so in the lists, Pam apparently is to do with recognition. So why am I going round in circles ? Is there a known problem with the log in as it`s behaving like a for next loop. The cd set I`m using is woody, wants throwing on the log pile. I`ve learnt a lot about computers through making mistakes but know nothing of Linux but this is beyond apprehension. Does anyone know how I go about sorting this problem. I`ll be honest after trying to get this program up and running for over five days, I`ve decided to purchase SUSE, however It would be nice to know that I could experiment with this and graduate to it eventually.
