for the long weekend ... i spent about 8hrs playing..
here's the fun freebie script to test which filesystem is faster
- format the disk(partitions) once
- do 3 passes copying 2.3GB of files from /dev/hda to /dev/hdc

( tweek as needed or cleanse it before running and formatting
( your target or wrong disk
- cloning a disk from /dev/hda to /dev/hdc is easy to understand
how fast or slow each target filesystem is
- bonnie++ numbers drives me nuts as to how fast the
disk/filesystem should be
( thanx though, russell, for the common bonnie++ benchmarks )
guess i'll post the results of the output logs later ( tommorrow )
