Hello! I use Woody, 2.4.18-bf2.4. It is known that xfree4.1 which is stable in Woody doesn't support GeForce4 MX 440. In mailing list archive I found http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2004/05/msg01883.html, Trying to install nvidia-kernel-common and nvidia-kernel-source, the system gives error like "Couldn't find package...". Are the nvidia-kernel-common and nvidia-kernel-source included as a stable package?
