I added these lines to the begining of /etc/init.d/rc: export LANG=en_GB export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/j2sdk1.4-sun/ but they still are not affecting the tomcat script run by rc. What am I doing wrong here? I have looked in /etc/messages and dmesg but cannot see any error messages.
