Ah, replying to your own post, a clear sign of being to hasty. Disabling wwwoffle (caching) changes the behavior a bit. It asks me to save the page. If I say 'Open with Firefox/Bird' it does the same as above. If I open a link like 'decock.org' it opens the page and in the address bar it says: file:///var/tmp/kdecache-joost/krun/1805.0.
