It is not *that* hard. If you want to use Knoppix, install Knoppix, then upgrade to unstable. The instructions are on knoppix.net. It might take you twice to get it right. In the recent version of Knoppix, they repackaged some common packages. You will probably want to remove their custom packages and download the standard packages. Right now is probably a good time to do it. I don't think anything in Knoppix is currently broken in unstable. Peter A.
