Can someone point to some docs to help with a postgres configuration for dovecot? I'm missing the referenced doc (see auth.txt.gz) on how to set this up.
Whoops I forgot to add this to the package didn't I? It will be fixed in the next version. But you're not missing much. It says:
You didn't forget. I didn't realize they really were in /etc/dovecot-pgsql.conf and not some /usr/share/doc/dovecot-imapd/examples kind of directory.
I found them. I have a question about the set up.
I guess because of my love for all things procmail I really don't have much choice but to run my authentication with pgsql, but to somehow "match" the usernames (or something??) between the user/pass entered into an imap session and the $HOME directory that they are using for their email.
My assumption at this point is that I could just use the same username for /etc/passwd and the dovecot authentication and it would map out the same (and I could have different passwords!). And if I didn't have the same usernames, would I then have to resort to specifying UID/GID?
I think I need a Auth Primer...
