I've got a BJC-4400 working, which is practically the same thing. You shouldn't need to generate one but you do have to install an additional package to get the Canon ppds;

apt-get install cupsomatic-ppd

should do the trick. Once those are installed by apt-get you'll have to restart the server;

/etc/init.d/cupsys restart

Then you should be able to add your BJC-4100 through the web interface.
