well, from umpteen posts i got on the issue, i have become kind of well-read person.
do eximconf
choose smarthost option
for smarthost, give your isp's smtp server name
in eixmconf file, check if it appears correctly in router configuration section. the last word is important. bydns_a if it is hostname and byname if it is an ip adderss

So how to setup exim to do this?
