hi there, beat me for it but do help, please, this problem is about a RedHat machine... and yet, i *have* to solve it... :)
we cannot SSH XForward between a specific pair of hosts. The client can XForward with other sshd's, but noone can XForward with that one particular sshd in this configuration. I thus conclude: it must be a server problem. smart me! the configuration in /etc/ssh/sshd_config is correct. X11Forward is set to Yes and X11DisplayOffset to 10, just like all my Debian machines. it's got OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 running. looking at the debug output from any client, i see the following relevant info: debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: channel_new: 0 debug1: send channel open 0 debug1: Entering interactive session. debug1: client_init id 0 arg 0 debug1: Requesting X11 forwarding with authentication spoofing. debug1: channel request 0: shell debug1: channel 0: open confirm rwindow 0 rmax 16384 so it looks like it's working, but then starting an X client in that ssh session yields: Error: Can't open display: fluffy:12.0 (but after taking about 2 minutes...) does anyone have any clues? thanks! -- .''`. martin f. krafft <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> : :' : proud Debian developer, admin, and user `. `'` `- Debian - when you have better things to do than to fix a system
