Yo tengo woody, para que te funcione tienes que instalar las XFree86 4.2, que también hay unos paquetes hechos para woody, te mando mi soruces.list, lo pones y primero haces apt-get dist-upgrade y luego apt-get install gnome, y a disfrutar de Gnome2.2.
