compila tu kernel para que tenga soporte para franebuffer.
tenes que seleccionar las opciones:
Console drivers ---> [*] Video mode selection support
Frame-buffer support ---> [*] VESA VGA graphics
console
y despues en tu lilo.conf pones vga=788 o vga=791 o el modo que te
guste.
