En tu comando xrandr debe aparecer el nombre del dispositivo. En el ejemplo de la pagina es LDVS1, ese dato lo obtienes de un xrandr sin mas. Por ejemplo en tu caso VGA debe ser VGA0 o VGA1 quizás.
