Não deve ser problema do gnome, não. O apt deveria instalar as deps
necessárias. Nesse endereço aqui tem um sources.list com uma fonte pro
k3b, eu estou usando na boa:

Para isso acontecer, não ter o kcontrol instalado, significa que o
ambiente não é KDE.Isso é verdade?
