Ciao Erico, eu baixei ha ums dias o seguinte Pacote:

instalei e funciona 100% ( JDK 1.5 )

Baixei o rpm.bin, executei, gerou o rpm e mandei alien -di <arquivo>.rpm
O alien converte .rpm para .deb, depois tu tens que instala-lo:
$dpkg -i <archivo>.deb
ou mande direto um:
$rpm -ihv <archivo>.rpm
deve funcionar tamb'em
