This may be my fault, I have filed the details separately. The installation sticks at this point, it keeps returning to red-background error screen, with the message "No installer components found" A separate problem: The keymapping for en_AU is defaulting to dvorak. It may be an off-by one indexing error (dvorak comes right after British English in the list). But I think American English is probably the sanest default. This can be resolved manually, e.g. by booting with boot: linux DEBCONF_PRIORITY=medium Possible problem: I booted with a Cardbus (32-bit PCMCIA) network card (3Com, 3CCFE575BT-D) in place. This was not detected, I was asked no questions about network configuration.
