If I manually udpkg -i'd the correct udebs from the CD, those options would then work. Bug with device drivers: it autodetected that I had an eepro100 ethernet controller, but then it failed the modprobe. Turned out, eepro100 was sitting in /lib/modules all fine, but it needed a depmod -a first. That's how I fixed it at least. The reboot didn't work too well. Two reasons, as I could see: 1) fstab had no proc entry, so lots of stuff died without /proc. 2) the root ext3 filesystem hadn't been cleanly unmounted by the installer, so fsck went nuts, and I got jacked into single-user mode. Sometimes the reboot would work, though. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 173649-done) by bugs.debian.org; 11 Nov 2003 01:20:52 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Nov 10 19:20:52 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from trofast.sesse.net [129.241.93.32] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1AJND9-00041i-00; Mon, 10 Nov 2003 19:20:51 -0600 Received: from root by trofast.sesse.net with local (Exim 3.36 #1 (Debian)) id 1AJND9-0006NQ-00; Tue, 11 Nov 2003 02:20:51 +0100 Date: Tue, 11 Nov 2003 02:20:51 +0100 From: "Steinar H.
