Debian-installer-version: "debian-installer and doc only, requires net access (50MB)" retrieved from http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ this morning uname -a: Linux localhost 2.4.22-1-386 #9 Sat Oct 4 14:30:39 EST 2003 i686 GNU/Linux Date: 11/10/2003 approx 10am PST Method: Boot from CD, network install from usc.edu mirror Machine: VMWare Workstation v4.0 SCSI Controller appears as BusLogic BT-946C NIC appears as AMD 79c970 PCNet32 LANCE Base System Installation Checklist: Initial boot worked: [O] Configure network HW: [O] Config network: [E] Detect CD: [O] Load installer modules: [O] Detect hard drives: [O] Partition hard drives: [O] Create file systems: [O] Mount partitions: [O] Install base system: [O] Install boot loader: [O] Reboot: [O] [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Comments/Problems: I have a full mirror on my local network so I booted using "cdrom DEBCONF_PRIORITY=medium" and walked through the first few steps by hand up until the "select mirror" stage. I chose the "enter information manually" option, but that did not prompt me to enter any information - instead it just came back with a selection list with the only option being "null". I could not find any other way to select my personal mirror location. I went back and chose one of the pre-listed mirrors instead and the install completed without incident. - -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux ros-saab 2.4.19-2 #2 Tue Oct 29 11:29:04 PST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/r9i51+lDY0MbOLoRAkyjAKDRWy8JQNNzdn5fIEeup/QxqV5lLwCdFbbn rx5z/9LRqn1mdNMzAfGEbDA= =3b3a -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
