in 18 years Debian released 6 "stable", an avarage of 3 years between a stable and the next one, i think is already longer than others call "LTS" a distro. 3 years between stables is already (imho, maybe) too much, is already an overload of work for maintainers to backport patches and other on software often classified "old" if not "obsolete" too.
