Hello to all,
My OS: Debian 5.0 - GNU/Linux
My Kernel : Version 2.6.34-1-686
I had originally 9.8 GB available on the partition mounted on / (root).
with the following packages already installed: php5, mysql-server-5.0,
phpmyadmin, apache2
But after having installed the following new packages: postfix, dovecot,
squirremail and telnet,
i found this:
~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda4 23G 22G 0 100% /
I also found that i can not create or mnage my database (mysql)
~# /etc/init.d/mysql restart
Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld.
/etc/init.d/mysql: ERROR: The partition with /var/lib/mysql is too full! failed!
I try to unstable some package, to clean the disk (aptitude autoclean), no way
still the same problem.
So that i decided to use another computer (laptop)
My OS in the new laptop: Debian 5.0 - GNU/Linux
My Kernel in the new laptop : Version 2.6.34-1-686
now with more than 20 GB on the partition mounted on /
I made the same installation, but after 2 days of use, i expected the same
problem, partition mounted on / become full and /etc/init.d/mysql: ERROR: The
partition with /var/lib/mysql is too full! failed!
please help me solve this problem.
Thank in advance
James
