There is a very annoying bug with scotch 6.0.0 that affects mumps 4.10.0: http://mumps.enseeiht.fr/index.php?page=faq#19
This should be fixed in the next version according to scotch upstream which will be released in a near future. I think we shall wait until 6.0.1 is released to upgrade scotch in Debian.
