paraview source: If you have a good reason, you may override this
lintian tag.
Hi guys, can you please explain this rejection?

Well, did you check the specified file? What does it say?

I did add a lintian override to paraview 5.11.2+dfsg-2.

Did you exclude from source the code specified in that file?

As I said, yes, I did. Did you read the changelog?

Please let 5.11.2+dfsg-2 in.

Afaik ftp-master is running bullseye and lintian changed it's syntax
in bookworm, so you need to use the old syntax here.

Thanks for explaining the problem, Jochen.

We build the packages against unstable, so it's unhelpful to have different lintian errors. It means we are unable to use lintian to test if there are any problems with the packaging. Then uploading becomes trial and error, which is not efficient.

Can I propose the lintian version from bookworm be built on ftp-master to enable a consistent build environment

Can a manual override be applied to enable paraview uploads until the version of lintian on ftp-master gets fixed?

Drew
