I am not the maintainer, but can add another data point. It is not crashing on startup for me. In the unlikely case that the locale setting was causing this, I tried starting with 'LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 freecad', but did not see any crash in this case either. I do not use AppArmor.
