Они там с дубу рухнули. Я его однажды пофиксил, и кинул им патч. Они сказали, что идеологически я пофиксил его не правильно. И вообще это проблема не KMail, а SMTP/IMAP/POP3 kio-slaves. Лично я, пока не выйдет KDE4, к этой проблеме возвращаться не буду.
