Redmine has dropped support upstream for FastCGI beginning with version 6.0.0
because
it was dropped in Rake 3.0.0.

https://www.redmine.org/issues/40092

I have adjusted the example webserver config files and added a NEWS entry.

https://salsa.debian.org/ruby-team/redmine/-/commit/
f5212036d44ceac1e913a0d2e78e753a6521ca64

None of the Nginx config examples were affected. Some of the Apache config
examples
were not affected, some were affected, but I believe I was able to modify them
in such a
way they would still work. Some of the Apache config examples were so
dependent on
FastCGI that I removed them entirely.

However, all of the lighttpd config examples were so dependent on FastCGI that
I deleted
them entirely, leaving no examples for lighttpd at all. I don’t have much
personal
experience with lighttpd (my instances all run under Apache). The purpose of
this email is
to ask if anyone has experience running Redmine under lighttpd and if they
would be
willing to provide some example configs we can ship with the updated Redmine
package.
