FWIW as one of the more recently active flash-kernel maintainers I am in favour of this, since flash-kernel is run as part of the installer simply adding the lastest f-k with the fix to jessie-backports is not sufficient. 3.59 entered sid on 2016-02-22 and Stretch on 2016-02-28 and there are no reported issues. Thanks Uwe for preparing the backport. If d-release agree I'd be happy for you to do the actual upload as well, or else feel free to prod me to do it. Ian.
