Dear Release Team,
I would like to request a transition for the latest version of nfft from
experimental to unstable.
Some API breaking changes were introduced from in version 3.3.0 and current
rdeps of nfft will require appropriate patching. The following bugs have been
filed with severity important:
* pynfft: #812997
* yorick-ynfft: #812995
Let me know if further action is required on my end. I intend to fix pynfft,
since I am the personal maintainer and upstream author of the package.
Are there patches for yorick-ynfft, or what's the plan for that?
Cheers,
Emilio
I did try to implement a fix for yorick-nfft based on my knowledge of
the API changes in nfft, but its test suite still fails for some reason.
I won't have time to investigate further, so it would be up to the
maintainer of yorick-nfft to finish the job. I believe he is also the
upstream developer.
Regarding pynfft, I am currently working on a different implementation
using cffi instead of Cython and could end-up dropping support of the
package both upstream and downstream altogether, once the new
implementation is out. I am happy to provide a patch for the current
pynfft package present in the archive if that can help.
