The libkml issue was fixed in gdal (1.11.2+dfsg-1~exp7) and that built successfully on the release archs without further symbols changes. I just uploaded gdal (1.11.2+dfsg-1) to unstable start unblock the various transitions and kick off this transition. We'll leave the geos transition (#791045) for later, postponing the circular dependency between the shared rdeps.
