Also, I'm not sure how apertium could eliminate the need for binNMUs. They could embed a pcre3 version number plus original regexes in the language packages so that they still work after pcre3 updates but the language packages would still need binNMUs to keep the performance high, especially since pcre3 appears to do some JIT stuff. -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
