Hello, I have packaged the new version of grib-api and I'm ready to upload it. Upstream still doesn't want to worry about ABI compatibility and still embeds the full package version in the soname, so a transition is needed. The API has not changed, so only action needed for reverse dependencies is a binary NMU. Let me know when I can upload it.
