That's not exactly true, it is possible to add build-depends (or -conflicts) for a one-shot binNMU. But for clarity and further binNMUs (against unstable) doing the right thing a sourceful upload is preferred. (They wouldn't be copied to the new one.) Kind regards Philipp Kern
