Thanks for the advice. I have put together a rough package, which can be found here: git://repo.or.cz/debian-git/jrn.git proposed-updates or here: dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/git/git_1.7.2.2-0.1.dsc I followed your advice to the letter, since it seemed reasonable. Still would be nice to do: - get "git instaweb" to work: currently any /etc/gitweb.conf from an actual gitweb installation interferes with it, and the git logo is not being copied to .git/gitweb like it should be. (Bug#592733) - finish listing fixed bugs - decide whether it is safe to change the Conflicts: git-core (<= 1:1.7.0.4-1) to Breaks: git-core (<= 1:1.7.0.4-1) + Conflicts: git-core (<< 1:1.5.2-1) - look into the emacs (Bug#576887, #577471, #577834) and git-daemon-run (Bug#570094) patches on the bts - sleep and reflect on it - test it out some more I am sending out the package now to help with that last bit. Thoughts welcome, as always. Good night, Jonathan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
