Hello, the (chilly) Release Team! ;)

I'm asking for a freeze exception for the package named
qemu-kvm, and a companion transitional package kvm,
which were in -unstable for 10 days already.

Current package in testing is 0.12.4+dfsg-1.
The unstable currently has 0.12.5+dfsg-1.

As it can be seen, this is next upstream version. But
this is not actually upstream version, it's upstream
stable/bugfix release, which incorporates only bugfixes
found since previous bugfix release 0.12.4, on which
the previous debian release is based. It is like the
upstream kernel "minor" releases, like 2.6.32.y.

So I hope it is okay not to name the new debian release
using the old 0.12.4 upstream version... ;)

So we've two set of changes in the version currently in
debian unstable: this is upstream changes, and debian
changes.

The whole set of changes can be seen in collab-maint
git tree: http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/qemu-kvm.git .

There were no single "feature" or even "functional" difference,
only fixes for bugs, some of them are quite serious like data
corruption or usefulness of the package for some valid usages.
(The git tree contains one attempted change to reorder
startup scripts, which should fix one whishlist bug in
debian, but all the relevant changes were reverted for
squeeze).

qemu-kvm is a virtual machine.

The bugs fixed in the version in -unstable are:

important bugs:
#582493 - data corruption
#589009 - crash under network load
#580649 - migration to another host does not work

normal/cosmetic bugs:
#591266 - non-working mouse in some guests

#583590 - cosmetic - don't produce error message on every exit
#578672 - don't disable screensaver functionality when qemu-kvm
       is running
#578672 - non-working keyboard for some languages

plus a few other unreported bugs.

Also, this version ships a few new documentation files for
some stuff that went undocumented so far.

I'm kindly ask to let this version into squeeze.

Thank you for the good work!

/mjt
