With reference to: http://buildd.debian.org/~jeroen/status/package.php?p=matplotlib&suite=testing The build failed on a few buildds because the package tried to use gcc to compile C++ code, which fails when the buildd has mismatched versions of these programs. Aurélien Jarno was kind enough to update the chroot and rebuild it for arm. I would request a similar action, if possible, for ia64, mips and powerpc, if possible, since that would avoid having to fool around with the (broken) build process.
