Hi!

Due to serious severity bug #493307 (swfdec-mozilla: can't use another Flash
plugin in mozilla when installed) and the fact that iceweasel and most if
not all browsers don't implement a good way to select the plugin to be used
to play a content, the maintainers of flash plugins for mozilla have agreed
to implement Debian alternatives to solve this bug.

We have uploaded new packages of swfdec-mozilla and gnash (the two free
plugins), the changes we have done are only the ones needed to support the
alternatives, being the bigger one that on swfdec-mozilla I had to change
the configure options in order to move the plugin to another directory. As
for the nonfree... Marillat has also made the changes to the nonfree plugin
he maintains on his nonfree repo.

The packages sould be in good shape and we feel that fixing this bug is
important because of the dependency gnome has on swfdec-mozilla which
currently means that all flash content will be played with swfdec-mozilla
without an easy way for the user to select any other flash plugin.

If you need any other info on this just ask for it.

Regards...
