-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I have now uploaded a new upstream release of uw-imap to experimental. I believe it would be good for Debian if this package could reach Lenny, as it includes the following important fixes: * 2 upstream bugfix releases, possibly security-related * binary code stripped from upstream source * Upstream released their changes as just "bugfixes to problems [...] that affected a small number of users". When I consider them "possibly security-related", it is because I am not clever enough to understand the actual code myself, but do know that they have "an unusual coding style" (see their FAQ section 3.21 for example: /usr/share/doc/libc-clientXXX/FAQ.txt.gz). uw-imap includes libc-client used only by a few packages, which will need a binNMU. A notable use of libc-client is by the package php5-imap used by most webmail packages and quite popular. This new release of uw-imap requires approval by ftpmaster to get through the NEW queue. As I have mentioned in changelog, this is no longer stricly needed, but I consier it too risky to change that now. Yes, I know this is very late in the game. I have been unable to allocate enough time for preparing this release sooner. Kind regards, and hope to see some of you soon in Argentina :-) - Jonas - -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist og Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ - Enden er nær: http://www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkhswjkACgkQn7DbMsAkQLifpgCbBMQwVeX+7DldYUg3byFvUppf Py8An0oG7pwmu3UaS6++F1jdfcLNQmJb =Tf1D -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
