I think it's time to transition to Python 3.14 as our default Python
version. The transition tracker already exists, link above.
Ubuntu's migration has just completed.
There are still a number of packages missing Python 3.14 support:

I have scheduled the first round of binNMUs.
With all binNMUs scheduled (and only a few riscv64 ones still pending), it may
be a time to reduce the number of autopkgtests regressions in [1], either by
fixing packages, or by removing them.
I have been doing that, removing those that were leafy enough, and helping
migrate those that received fixes (thanks everyone who contributed to that effort).
In the end, some autopkgtest regressions had to be ignored, but they were mostly
caused by what is tracked under #1141379, and the updated packages will be fine.
With that done, python3-defaults has migrated.
