Please unblock package xfce-polkit (currently in NEW) [ Reason ] Closes: https://bugs.debian.org/1090384 Will help with https://bugs.debian.org/1104427 Xfce desktop environment has no authentication agent, following removal of policykit-1-gnome from Trixie https://bugs.debian.org/990271 [ Impact ] Gui tools requiring root will not run in Xfce. Examples; gparted, gsmartcontrol, synaptic, thunar etc. [ Tests ] I update my desktop Trixie system daily via synaptic, and mount auxiliary partitions via thunar, using xfce-polkit for the last two months. Also, I have checked that gparted and gsmartcontrol run Ok. (Attaching screenshot of synaptic authentication) [ Risks ] Regression risk is zero, as the package is not currently in the archive.
