A status update, as of 2024-10-09. These packages have been detected as needing to migrate together: * gnome-shell: 4/5 days * gdm3: autopkgtest failing on armel; should fix itself when gdm3 migrates (see below) * gnome-shell-pomodoro: autopkgtest is failing to install gnome-shell due to libmutter-14-0 and libmutter-15-0 not being co-installable, it isn't clear to me why the old libmutter-14-0 is getting pulled in * gjs: ready to migrate * old armel binary needs to be cleaned up by the ftp team (#1082389) * gnome-settings-daemon: 4/5 days * gdm3: same autopkgtest issue as gnome-shell * gnome-shell-extension-arc-menu: 2/5 days, no blockers * gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-panel: 2/5 days, no blockers * gnome-shell-extension-shortcuts: 2/5 days, no blockers * gnome-shell-extensions: 4/5 days * gdm3: same autopkgtest issue as gnome-shell * mutter: 2/5 days * gdm3: same autopkgtest issue as gnome-shell Related packages: * gdm3: ready to migrate * old armel binary needs to be cleaned up by the ftp team (#1082122) * openmsx-catapult: autopkgtest needs to skip gdm3:armel, #1082518, unfixed * systemd: autopgtest fixed in 256.7-1 for #1082516, 0/5 days So I think this is mainly waiting for ftp team action (#1082122, #1082389). If that can happen, then I think it would be feasible to get this migrated during or soon after the Cambridge minidebconf this weekend. Can the gdm3, openmsx-catapult and systemd autopkgtests be ignored on armel for the moment? gdm3 and systemd are already fixed in unstable. openmsx-catapult is not, but it would seem like a shame for a frontend for an emulator for a 1983 microcomputer (I had to look it up) to be the thing that prevents updating our default desktop environment. And I'm not quite sure what's going on with gnome-shell-pomodoro, but if its autopkgtest is ignored for now, I think it will resolve itself when this transition goes through and mutter 46 disappears. Thanks, smcv
