Hi ftp-masters team, release team and Debian sysadmins,
I am continuously porting loong64 to the Debian community.
I request that the loong64 port could be included in the Official ports.
I sent E-mails to both debian-devel and debian-admin 3 weeks ago with
the subject "Requesting for setting up loong64 buildds (Server machines)
for Official".
Thanks to Aurelien Jarno for the reply and reminder.
The next step is to send an official request to the teams deciding about
accepting a new architecture.
I summarize the status of the loong64 port and provide links to the
requested documents, as follows,
*- Improve the loong64 port until it satisfies the criteria for being
included in the main archive.*
1. With a wiki page named after the port below ArchiveQualification.
Please check https://wiki.debian.org/ArchiveQualification.
2. Answer the questions included in the archive criteria.
I have created a ArchiveQualification page for loong64 and answered the
questions. I will update continuously.
Please check https://wiki.debian.org/ArchiveQualification/loong64.
The archive-coverage of loong64 from June 7, 2024 is more than 95%.
*- Improve the loong64 port until it satisfies the criteria for being
included in a Debian release.*
1. Update the qualification status as progress is made on each of the
criteria.
I submitted a MR to add loong64 in arch_qualify living document.
Please check
https://salsa.debian.org/release-team/release.debian.org/-/merge_requests/24
I submitted a MR to update archive-coverage and autopkgtest for loong64.
Please check
https://salsa.debian.org/release-team/release.debian.org/-/merge_requests/25.
2. The status of Debian debci for loong64.
We have prepared 2 debci machines (LoongArch Server machines) for debci
team.
Please see https://lists.debian.org/debian-ci/2024/05/msg00012.html.
Currently loong64 was included in debci. Thanks elbrus, sincerely.
The build status of debci, can be found at
https://ci.debian.net/user/britney/jobs?package=&trigger=&suite%5B%5D=unstable&arch%5B%5D=loong64.
3. The status of loong64's porterbox.
We have sent a LoongArch Server machine (3C5000 7A2000) to Salzburg as a
porter box for loong64.
The Server machine is hosted in Salzburg, Austria at Conova and will be
set up by glaubitz@d.o.
Thanks John Paul Adrian Glaubitz and bzed.
4. About the status of buildd-dsa in arch_qualify living document.
I hope that I could get guidance or suggestions from Debian DSA team.
We have prepared 4 ~ 6 LoongArch Server machines.
According to the needs expressed by the DSA, we can mail LoongArch
Server machines (used as Official Port buildds) to different locations.
With Debian's permission in future, we have been planning to
give(donate) LoongArch Server machines to Debian.
For loong64, only porterbox, build-dsa now has a status of "NO" on the
arch_qualify page.
In a word, loong64's qualification status can be found at
https://release.debian.org/testing/arch_qualify.html.
*- Grow the hardware ecosystem until it satisfies the requirements for
an official port. *
1. With a wiki page named after the loong64 port below
HardwareQualification.
Please check https://wiki.debian.org/HardwareQualification.
2. Answer the requirements listed in the loong64 port hardware
requirements page.
Currently I have added Hardware Qualification page for loong64.
Please check https://wiki.debian.org/HardwareQualification/loong64.
Thanks to the reminder from Pabs and Aurelien, I've updated the relevant
content.
For the loong64 port, please review the above ArchiveQualification,
arch_qualify living document and HardwareQualification's state and links.
If you have any questions about the loong64 port you can contact me at
any time.
If I've handled any of the processes wrong or mistakes, please don't
feel troubled and please correct me.
Thanks
