do you mean changing debootstrap such that the buildd variant is no longer including Priority:required packages? The MR for that is here: https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/debootstrap/-/merge_requests/106 Luca Boccassi seems to approve that change and in [1] expresses that it would be good for the list of affected bugs to go to zero before merging it. Before I go through these bugs again and contact their respective maintainers, I wanted to clarify their severity with you.
