The packages which I was waiting for (python-backcall, ipython-py2) have now cleared NEW, so for me I'm ready to proceed.
Unless there are any objections, I propose to upload prompt-toolkit 2.0 (as per experimental, plus the Breaks: listed above) to unstable in during the first week of January.
