I did that (actually I completely disabled -g for mipsel, that was easier to achieve), I verified that it works on the porterbox, and I made a new upload (octave 5.1.0-3). However this time it failed to build on all arches, because of texinfo 6.7.0.dfsg.2-2 which was buggy. Since then, texinfo 6.7.0.dfsg.2-3 has been uploaded which should fix that. Can you please give octave back?
