It looks like the migration to testing of the latest xapian packages is now only blocked by recursive dependencies:
http://bjorn.haxx.se/debian/testing.pl?package=xapian-core;expand=1 If this needs manual intervention to resolve, the source packages involved are: xapian-core xapian-omega xapian-bindings The packages in unstable are a definite improvement over the versions in testing. There's also a newer upstream version I'm nearly ready to upload packages for, but it would be good to get the packages currently in unstable migrated to testing first in case the next upload doesn't make it into etch.
