Scidavis hardly relies on Qt4 and its Qt3 compatibility facilities. It still uses an obsolete version of Qwt and QwtPlot. I tried to fork the latest upstream source and begin to migrate code from Qt4 to Qt5, but the task appears as quite difficult, since many obsolete Qt3 structures are still in use, and that quite a lot of Qwt structures are now unsupported with the recent qwt release (the only compatible with Qt5). As messages asking for an update at upstream level got no reply during the last three months, and that no git branch was opened recently to address this issue in the upstream repository, I suspect that Scidavis will never be ported to Qt5 by upstream developers. So, I ask for the removal of the package Scidavis from both Testing and Unstable distributions, as I do not consider to make this migration. Thank you in advance. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable'), (499, 'testing'), (400, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)
